@Lost_N_BIOS in collaboration with @Fernando I’m trying to build a great no-raid system on existing hardware. I have. I would use my optiplex 3020 of choice, but it doesn’t support VT-d. But the processor does not have any bios. I was worried about the whole chipset (H81) but my friend also has a Dell Inspiron 3847 with the same chipset but with VT-d support. I connected both jumpers ops. I’m looking for VT-d for PCI-E pass-through.

How do I enable BIOS and virtualization?

This is actually a broken mod (3020b). FIT table (set to BIOS/ME processor microcode location) not working, I assume it was not by default, confirmed by the default BIOS below, just be aware that this Junk Mod is everything you did before in this dump.

I checked both BIOSes, one man’s 3847 is a more complete real BIOS than the very limited 3020 BIOS.
Vt-d should not show up in this bios, there is almost no “virtualization” option, the text stays at home as a link, but the exact encoding and actual control is removed. There is nothing you can do about it.

Some Intel have had issues with the specifications they call VT-d. At least if you’re running a Haswell generation (not sure if Sandy Bridge/Ivy Bridge or later) you just want to get a VT-d enabled processor with firmware support that has another IOMMU’s default feature set and as a relay VGA. functions. Here you can see that VT-d may even be a product available on some H81 motherboards.
I remember myself and other users arguing with an ASUS representative before XtremeSystems 6 or 7 growth cycles ago because they said they don’t have VT-D boost on mainstream Haswell motherboards because they don’t support chipsets, but many of the manufacturers like ASRock have made it work on almost every motherboard.
For what Intel refers to as VT-d support in the respective chipset, see page 5.29.2 of the Intel 8 Series Chipset Datasheet. Enables FLR (Function Level Reset) support for a limited number of PCI devices built into the chipset microchips. As the owner of a motherboard with a C226 chipset that previously supported VT-d, I can confirm that in particular the full lspci -vvv under Linux confirms that these devices support FLR (FLR+), while none of the chipsets on the market that I saw (FLR-). @Lost_N_BIOS @zir_blazer Hey, I think I did a good job making slic mods. Uses Phoenix/Dell/EFI Slic Tool v2.73. Yes Lost cpu-z shows H81. Does my BIOS support virtualization?
If you have a PC running Windows 10 or Windows 8, the easiest way to check this is to open Task Manager -> Performance tab. You should see mirrored virtualization as in the screenshot below. If any of these are enabled, it means that your valuable processor supports virtualization and is enabled in the BIOS.

@snakeman / I can fix your existing BIOS mods, leave Stuff Slic alone and just fix a specific FIT table. And be sure to give a link to the second BIOS 3020, I think there may be 2-3, one SFF, etc. easy, maybe one of them would actually have VT-d and I could make it easy for you to copy that task for you.
